J.R.T. Nurseries Inc. is a family operated business that is located in Aldergrove British Columbia. Aldergrove is located in the Fraser Valley, which provides a perfect combination of conditions required for producing our high quality blueberry nursery stock. At J.R.T Nurseries our team is skilled and dedicated to producing quality products and expanding the J.R.T name in North America.

John Smith - BC Landscape Sales
From 1984 until 1993, Jon worked with Gardening Celebrity, Brian Minter at Country Garden in Chilliwack, BC. While working as a customer sales and service representative at Country Garden, Jon developed an excellent knowledge and a love of ornamental landscape plants, perennials and trees. Keen to gain some practical experience prior to starting his own landscape/gardening business, Jon went to work for ISA Certified Arborist and Journeyman Gardener, Bruce Broughton, owner of Arbor Landscaping. Jon remained at Arbor for the next two years. While working there, Jon also attended horticultural studies at Kwantlen University/College.
In the spring of 1995 Jon started his own company, Greenteam Gardening. While running Greenteam, Jon worked on numerous landscape renovation, installation and maintenance projects. These ranged from small scale residential to large scale multi family strata complexes, commercial buildings and residential community projects. Jon ran his business successfully for 18 years. In 2008, seeking a career change, Jon accepted a sales position at Kustom Koach RV in Aldergrove, BC and later went to work as a product advisor for Valley Toyota in Chilliwack, BC.
Jon’s love of plants along with his years of experience as a landscape contractor have led him to his current position with us at JRT. He is looking forward to developing strong relationships with his clients, working hard to earn their business and even harder to earn their loyalty. Ben Vander Werf - Ontario Sales
Ben's love of plants started at a very young age. He used to help plough his grandfather's fields on the family farm, and propagate and ship plants at a family owned and operated greenhouse and garden centre. As a teen he spent many of his days selling fruits and vegetables at the local city market. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting and servicing the needs of his customers week after week. Ben graduated from the Horticultural technician program at Niagara College with honours in the spring of 1997. He soon accepted a position at one of the Niagara Region's largest nurseries. He started out as a shipper with a very high standard of sending out high quality plants. He quickly moved to head shipper and then to grower/manager where his high standard of growing quality product continued. Ben spent 11 years at two of the largest nurseries in the Niagara Region, where he has anticipated and met all of his customers' needs in a professional manner. Mike Wrede - BC Retail Sales As a graduate of BCIT Forestry, Mike worked for Agriculture Canada as a summer student. Upon graduation he started working for Art Knapp's and that was the beginning of his career in horticulture. It did not take long for him to advance into management as he spent 13 years with both Art Knapp's and GardenWorks. After this he represented Van Belle Nursery where his territory stretched all the way to Thunder Bay, Ontario. In 2002 a small nursery for sale caught his attention. He and his wife, Marie, began negotiations to purchase, and in February of 2002 they were proud owners of Happy Hollow Nurseries. After successfully running the nursery they thought it was time for a change of lifestyle and sold everything to move to the Kootenay's.
